Reverend Dianne’s Sermons

2025 - 2026 Service Year
Sermon Name/Date Order

August 24 – Sharing Sweetness.
Today’s theme — Sharing Sweetness — invites us into something deeper than dessert. It’s an opportunity to pause and reflect on the moments in our lives that have felt… sweet. Not perfect. Not without challenge. But sweet in the way they warmed our hearts or reminded us that joy is still possible.

September 14 – Ingathering & Water Communion
Today, our theme is Belonging. Each of us longs to know that we have a place in this world. A place where our presence is not just tolerated but welcomed. A place where our unique selves — our strengths, quirks, doubts, and hopes — can unfold freely.

October 12 – Self-Compassion & Clergy Appreciation Day
Today is a day set aside to honor clergy, recognize the work of ministry, and celebrate the bonds between those who serve and the communities they serve within. Instead of focusing solely on clergy today, I want to widen the lens and appreciate the practice of ministry that belongs to all of us. Seeing the holy work of compassion, service, and presence as something we share.

November 9 – Setting Intentions for the Future
Intentions are a fascinating paradox because you control them, and they help drive and control your actions. By creating an intention, it’s at the forefront of your thoughts, and can remind you of your goals and the path to success you’ve laid out.

December 14 – Hope that Rises: Finding Strength When Life Feels Like Too Much
As we approach the end of the year, many of us are carrying more than we speak aloud — stress about the world, worry about our families, economic pressure, and the emotional weight of the holiday season. Join us for an honest, compassionate exploration of how we move through seemingly impossible situations with courage, clarity, and Love at the center. Drawing on practical resilience tools and grounded in UU Values, this sermon offers both comfort and a path forward.

January 11 – What Can We Do About Evil
This week’s sermon explores how courage, inner transformation, and lived love offer real responses to harm in our world. Together, we’ll reflect on resilience, spiritual practice, and how choosing love and generosity shapes both our lives and our shared future.

February 8 – Unshakeable – Inner Strength and the Gifts We Carry
Inner strength and spiritual gifts are exactly where many people are right now—tired, unsure, but still longing to trust themselves and their place in the world. But if inner strength is real, and if spiritual gifts are part of who we are, then why do so many people feel disconnected from both? What does it mean to be strong when life feels uncertain? This sermon explores inner strength, spiritual gifts, and what it means to remain grounded—not rigid—through life’s storms. Join us as we reflect on how love, adaptability, and self-trust can help us live unshakeable lives.

March 8 – Where is Your Attention Leading You?
In a culture designed to fragment and distract us, attention becomes a spiritual act. This Sunday, Rev. Dianne invites us to explore how what we repeatedly notice shapes our thoughts, our habits, and ultimately our character — and how Love, at the center of our faith, can organize our attention toward courage, generosity, and transformative action.
